Open auditions are held for each show, usually in September (for the Fall musical), November (for the Winter drama), and February (for the Spring Gilbert and Sullivan operetta). For the Fall and Spring, we try to cast everyone who auditions, so there is no way you will be left out if you want to be on stage!
For more information about the next auditions check out our Auditions page.
Tech & Backstage Crews
Love to hammer things, paint, sew, play with electricity, go on prop scavenger hunts, or generally just get messy? Come help us backstage! This is a great way to get involved if you don't have the time to devote to rehearsals on weeknights or don't want to be on stage. Drop us an e-mail at email@example.com to let us know what you're interested in. Tech crew members are, of course, happily welcomed to any and all cast parties! Tech crews usually meet up every weekend.
We welcome anyone with orchestra/band experience who would like to play in the pit! The time commitment for the orchestra is generally 3-4 rehearsals preceding show week, then every night during show week. The Musical Director is in charge of recruitment for each show, so if you're interested, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll pass your information along. Orchestra members are, of course, happily welcomed to any and all cast parties!
We suspect this is why you're really interested! GGSS holds a party every Friday night after rehearsal. We also have parties after every show during production week: Wednesday at the Billy Goat Tavern, Thursday is hosted by a GGSS member, Friday is a formal party, and Saturday is an end of show potluck where we thank everyone involved in the show with special traditions. Everyone is invited to every party! All parties are hosted by members of the cast, crew, board, and alumni. For party information or to offer to host please e-mail email@example.com.
